How This Year’s Employment Law Solutions Christmas Card Came to Life

Kevin from Employment Law Solutions got in touch about this year’s Christmas card, and it still means a lot to say this is the fourth year in a row I have been trusted with it. That kind of consistency does not happen by accident. It comes from understanding the brand, the people behind it, and what makes these cards land every time.

I first met Employment Law Solutions through networking, and over time that relationship has grown into designing icons, posters, and what has now become the sacred Christmas card. It is always a highlight project and judging by the feedback from the businesses who receive them each year, it clearly does its job.

This year’s idea started in the most normal way possible. To get the inspiration flowing, I sat down with the kids after tea, The Grinch on in the background and hot chocolates in hand, and we just sketched. No pressure, no screens, just getting the idea out of my head and onto paper. That early stage is where the humour and story really take shape.

Once the concept felt right, I took the sketch into Adobe Illustrator, refining the characters, composition, and details until it became the final artwork. This is where the rough idea turns into something polished, clear, and ready for print without losing the personality from the original sketch.

After approval, the artwork is sent over to Panda Press who handle the printing and dispatch. They do a cracking job every year and make sure the finished cards land exactly as intended.

Projects like this are a reminder that even in industries dealing with serious matters day in and day out, there is still room for warmth, humour, and personality. That is exactly why these cards work.
